Hi Mr. Agile

Is it possible to run 1Password - Win/Mac directly from a USB Stick in order to carry it around ???

It would also be nice to be able to secure at the same time directories on the stick with it...

That would be cooool. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

cheers

Andy

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for the post, we don't currently have any plans to create a portable version of 1Password for Mac or Windows, there are number of challenges that would make this difficult to implement, such as how we'd handle the browser integration.

Of course, you do have access to 1PasswordAnywhere, a secure web application built right into your data file that gives you read-only access to your information when you're away from 1Password. You can read more about 1PasswordAnywhere in 1Password's user guide:

    http://help.agile.ws/1Password_Windows/onepasswordanywhere.html

You can also see it in action on our YouTube channel:

    Hope that helps,

    Hi diavolino,

    Welcome to the forums!

We do have a very useful 1PasswordAnywhere feature which allows you to access your 1Password data from not only another Mac, but also Windows and Linux machines. You can use it from a USB flash drive or keep your data file on Dropbox and you won't even need to carry around a flash drive. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

(Please note: If you want to use 1PasswordAnywhere on something like a USB flash drive or MobileMe iDisk, you can only store a copy of your Agile Keychain on these external drives, you cannot keep it there as your main data file. This is due to reliability issues and Apple’s own recommendations.)

While 1Password will secure your passwords and other sensitive data, we recommend using Knox to encrypt large amounts of files. 1Password does support file attachments for each login if you only need to encrypt a few files, though.

    Does that help you?

    Cheers!
