Firefox profiles with arbitrary file paths

Junior Member
I'm having this problem, too, and nothing so far has fixed it. Neither .284 nor .285 has helped. I tried the bit about moving the OnePassword.sqlite file, and that didn't help. I've tried creating a new Firefox profile and it doesn't work there, either. The Chrome extension works fine for me, but all I ever get with Firefox is the "Connecting" counter.

I've actually just managed to get it working, but I think you need to work on documenting this better or (preferably) fixing the problem.

The problem in my case is that I keep my Firefox profile on a different drive (my C: drive is an SSD with limited space and I don't want the browser cache eating it up). I saw a reply somewhere that indicated that you don't support that, so I tried a new profile in the default location and it worked.

I found a way to move the browser cache to a separate location from the profile, so that solved the biggest problem I had with keeping my profile on C:, but in general I'd like to be able to keep my user data on a different drive. I'd really prefer to see you find some way to get this working with profiles in non-standard locations.

At the very least, there should be something somewhere more obvious to explain that the extension won't work if your profile's not in the default location.

    hello, everyone!

I am also experiencing this issue on:

    Windows 7 32bit (eng)

    Firefox 11

    1Password .286

    1Password's extension 3.9.0

My Firefox's profile is stored on another logical drive (e:), but before upgrading to Firefox 11 it worked fine.

I sent a diagnostics report to the email address Stefan provided.

I hope this will be fixed. The problem occured on my work machine and I'm quite helpless without my passwords there <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> (and moving browser's profile to default location sadly is not an option)

By the way, on my home Windows machine, where Firefox's profile is stored in default location, I have not experienced this issue.
  • I have the same problem. My firefox profile is stored on my d-drive and since I installed yesterday's update the 1Password-Plugin for firefox is no longer working. Today's update did not fix the problem.

    Windows 7 x64

    Firefox 11.0

    1Password 1.0.9.286

    1Password's Firefox extension 3.9.0

I also generated a diagnostics report and sent it to the provided email address.

We support multiple Firefox profiles, but I'm afraid they need to be inside .\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox (Windows XP) or .\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox (Windows Vista and Windows 7). We're working on a fix for this issue.

Can you please download 1.0.9.287 and confirm the fix?

    Thanks!
  • 1.0.9.287 solved it! Thanks!
