Welcome to the forum, kevinbreit!

1Password for Windows does require a separate license from 1Password 3 on the Mac.

That said, you can currently license 1Password for Windows at a 50% discount in our online store!

..., but with the Dropbox integration it really is becoming a ubiquitous application (can we expect a web version at some point?).
There is a web version in your Agile key directory. So, if you are using Dropbox, you have access to your passwords whenever you have Drobbox installed on a PC. I have been relying on this for a long time prior to the availability of this much more feature rich Windoze app. And there is the rub...

Since there is an option to get to the key hive already, there needs to be an incentive for those using the PC on a rare'ish case (over at a relatives, etc.). I am way not in the camp that this should be free to Mac licensees! Heaven knows that over my career, my salary has been artificially enhanced due to working on this new-to-you platform. I just want to chime in with all others mentioning a Family License rate for X-cross platform access. That just seems to be the fairest way, unless there is a cheat that would open up with that that I am not considering...

There is a continuous mention of a forth coming option for existing licensees to feel that Agile-love. I really think that should have been hashed out prior to going "Order Now!". That seems uncharacteristically fishy... Those not familiar with Agile being a different company in that way, will look at that with a high degree of well reasoned skepticism.
  • I've been using this product in Beta and loved it so I went through the purchase process... I did find the process odd, especially when I entered all my information and then it redirected me to Paypal. Either way I entered all the information through Paypal and I received my confirmation from Paypal on the payment. Now the bad news, I didn't receive my family license on the site or via email.

When I requested a resend for the license key it says the email address is not on record, I was expecting this to be an instant delivery or do I need to wait?

I figured the only way I could screw this up by was by mistyping my email address, sure enough that's what I did. I sent a message via "contact us" I hope someone can help.

    Hello everyone,

    ....

Purchase your 1Password for Windows license from the Online Store (be sure to use this link as it does not appear in the general store yet).

Email support@agile.ws with your order details, along with your forum user name and the number of posts you've had in this forum.

We'll refund an additional $2.50 (of the already discounted price) for every post you've had in this forum. In other words, if you had 8 posts, you'll get a full refund on a Single User license; if you had 3 posts, we'd refund you $7.50.
...
Just a question : how long will this offer be valid, and do (significant) posts count after the purchase date ?

I bought one license on both platform (Win XP & Snow Leopard) because I will be using both OS.

    Thanks.

As I understand it, MerleOne, the offer may last for the duration of the beta development period.

The number of posts was counted up to the date of Dave T's announcement of the offer. It was the early testers—the ones who had helped us get 1Password for Windows to that point—who we wanted to reward with the additional refund.

I was waiting for a proper Win password manager for a long time.

Ditto. In the past I've just resorted to manually entering everything while referring to the iphone version of "1P". But, I'm still nervous about doing my shopping and secure surfing in windows. Never know if you acquired a keylogger or other spy-ware somewhere.

[s]Speaking of, will there be android versions? I've been thinking of making the switch, and I'd bet 1P devs would have better OS-integration options with android also. copy/paste and app-switching can get old when using the iphone.[/s] oops, I wasn't looking very hard

I've one question... If I buy the Windows license, will I have a special discount buying the Mac license?
  •
Here is a promo code for 20% off on the Mac version.

    >>Link<<

Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this here. If this is not allowed please advise and I will remove it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

There aren't a lot of rules, but it's hardly on topic, or even in a logical forum. I think it would be fine in the 1Password 3 (Mac) forum.

    Thanks!

Understood, but the iSlayer discount you mentioned is completely separate from the question of whether a 1Password for Windows license includes a discounted 1Password 3 license.

It doesn't, but there's a great half-price promotion for pre-registering the released version of 1Password for Windows (https://agilewebsolutions.com/store).

The distinction seemed worth making clear, if only because the half-price promotion isn't likely to last beyond the beta period, and I've heard nothing about "bundling" or cross-platform licenses.

The license is on sale for $19.95 right now, correct? No tax or anything else? That's the total my receipt told me, but the charge on my account came across as $20.11. Is that $0.16 difference tax? If so, why wasn't it listed on my receipt?

I don't have an issue w/ paying tax, I just have an issue with the amount I was charged being more than my order receipt said it was.

EDIT: Nevermind. It turns out that my bank charges a 1% fee for out of country transactions.

Having used and tested the Beta for Windows, I too have a family Mac licence and see worth in paying for the Windows Version.

However as I'm the only windows/mac user in my family, I still only need a single user licence although I using three windows machines to login to?

I suppose my question is - is the means of licenceing to "user" for windows the same as it is for Mac?

The store says "Single User License" but I'd like to clarify.

Just wanted to clarify...Does this discount of $2.50 for every post only apply toward a single license or can it be applied towards a family license also? If the discount can be applied towards a family license, then can the discount exceed $20? For example, if I had 16 posts, would I be entitled to the family license for free?

I purchased the Family license right away. Since then I've been posting my experiences while running the beta versions. As a result of my postings, a few of my reported bugs have initiated additional updates. Is there any way that I can benefit from this discount?

    Just curious <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

You know the economy these days... gotta ask, right?
  • I have the Windows Beta and attemped to purchase the family plan. However the upgrade shows for the MAc and will not let me purchase the Family Plan. I do have a Iphone app that is linked with the beta through Dropbox. Very nice. I just need to purchase the family plan. Of course at the discount rate. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

    Thanks
  • Hi Dave & others,

Seems like I'm jumping on the bandwagon late here with regards to beta testing on the Windows version of 1P.

Largely as the result of purchasing a Mac for my daughter and helping her with the setup, I am becoming increasingly pulled in the direction of the *Mac community* (happening everywhere it seems!) and in the near future will be replacing a tired notebook with a Mac. I admit it, I've been bitten!

As a Windows user, I have used Roboform heavily on several of my PC's at home. I wanted to install Roboform on mydaughter's Mac but realized quickly there was no version for Mac or for plans of one to be offered in the future. On one of my PC's I have removed Roboform and I am now actively testing the 1P Windows beta version. Looks like a solid program solution, and I am eager to see the final version.

Here's my question guys. Can I still participate in the *beta improvement posts for $2.50 discount program*?

During the process of importing Roboform passwords to 1P and subsequently using the 1P program I have some tips for improvement.

    Regards,

    Bob
