Internet Explorier add-on not working beta ver.133

I have noticed that my 1P add-on is not working in 32bit IE. Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit, IE 8.07600.16385. 1Password beta 1.0.0.133. I noticed the add-on was not working in a prior beta, might have been two versions back. I installed the latest build (133) hoping it would correct the issue. I have also tried to disable and then enable the add-on. Protected Mode is Off.
Is this a bug or do I need to perform a complete uninstall / reinstall of 1Password ?
Side note: I have Firefox 3.6.12 installed and the add-on works fine in Firefox.

dsbeal, welcome to the forum!
I hope you won't mind answering a few questions to help us understand the problem.

Can you describe in precisely what way 1Password is not working?

Are you able to launch the 1Password program itself?
If you are, does the Browsers tab of 1Password show the same version of IE (below left) as IE itself reports when you choose Help > About Internet Explorer (below right)?

Are you able to add the 1P button to the IE toolbar?
If you are, what happens when you click on the 1P button, and what happens when you press Ctrl+\?

Thanks for your help, dsbeal!Flag 0 -

I'm able to launch the 1Password program.
The Browser tab of 1Password matches the version that IE reports.
The 1P button is showing on the IE toolbar.
Nothing happens when clicking the 1P button.
1Password works when using shortcut key Ctrl+\ (was not aware of this shortcut, always used 1P button)
Attached IE add-on screenshot.
Thanks, David

Thanks for the follow-up, dsbeal, and for the helpful screen shot.
It's interesting that it shows both "enabled" and "not available" for 1Password-related items. I'll ask the developer to take a look at this thread as soon as possible.
In the meantime, please try the suggestions listed under Why doesn't Ctrl+\ work in my browser? in the FAQ section of our user's guide. In most circumstances, pressing Ctrl+\ should have much the same effect as clicking the 1P button, so (regardless of the title of the question) I'm hoping one of the tips might solve the problem.
Thanks for your patience! Please let us know how it goes.Flag 0 -

I have checked the suggestions and everything seems to be setup like the suggestions. I'll use the keyboard shortcut and let you know if I figure out something to get the 1P button working.

Please follow these steps in 1Password:
1. File > Preferences > Browsers
2. UNcheck: Internet Explorer
3. Press OK
4. File > Preferences > Browsers
5. CHECK: Internet Explorer
6. Press OK
This procedure will un-install and then re-install the IE add-onFlag 0 -
Hello,
I'm having a similar issue. Running IE8, and 1password for windows beta 1.0.0.134. (Operating system is Win7 pro, 64bit).
Everything used to work fine, until I upgraded a few days ago. I dont remember what the previous version of 1password was that I had, but I installed it in Sept. When I go to a web page that requires a password, the IE security popup appears saying that 1Password wants to open web content outside of Protect mode (it did that before as well). Now, whether I click the Allow or Dont Allow button, the webpage just hangs -for several minutes. It is incredibly frustrating. I have tried what Stefan has suggested. It worked momentarily, but I am still experiencing the problem. I really dont want 1password to offer to remember a password EVERY time I go to a web site, especially when I just want to check my email (I already know that password!). Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you tried the auto-save controls on the Auto Save tab of 1Password preferences?
You can specify domains (like google.com) to be ignored for auto-saving, or you can disable auto-save altogether (which you can also do in the dialog box that appears when you click the 1P button in your browser's toolbar).Flag 0 -

Have you tried turning off protected mode? Does this solve the problem?
Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Security > "Enable Protected Mode"
Please remember to turn it back on.
Thanks, Stefan.Flag 0 -

Turning protect mode off does solve the problem (I enabled auto-save to test this), but of course, windows keeps reminding me to turn protect mode back on.
